El año pasado (2013) celebrando el 55 aniversario del surgimiento del Billboard Hot 100, se publica la lista de "Las 100 Mejores Canciones de Todos los Tiempos" que se han colocado dentro de esa lista en los pasados 55 años (1958-2013).
Cuando Billboard publica las primeras listas de popularidad semanalmente en 1940, había dos listas, la lista de ventas y la lista de popularidad en la radio. Estas listas separadas medían la popularidad de los sencillos, continuando así de manera separada hasta el 4 de Agosto de 1958 fecha en la que Billboard publica la primer lista de popularidad donde se mezclan las ventas y popularidad en radio con el nombre de "Billboard Hot 100", continuando así hasta la fecha y conocida alrededor del mundo por ser la lista de popularidad semanal definitiva de los sencillos en los Estados Unidos. Como alguien dijo una vez "No es #1 hasta que no sea #1 en Billboard".
En celebración del 55 aniversario del Billboard Hot 100, esta es la lista de "Las 100 Mejores Canciones de Todos los Tiempos" clasificada por orden de actuación o interpretación la cual esta en modo descendiente, 10 por día, hasta que la lista completa es descubierta.
Esta lista de todos los tiempos fue compilada por primera vez en el año 2008 para el 50 aniversario del Billboard Hot 100, en los pasados 5 años una docena de canciones que han entrado al Billboard Hot 100 entre 2008-2013 han brincado para llegar al Top 100 de todos los tiempos.
